Dancing into the future

Here is what I asked Dall-E to create: “A robot dancing with a beautiful woman oil painting style”.

Happy New Year!

I have tried some new and fun AI stuff - not AI as in Authentic Influencing - but AI as in Aritificial Intelligence. 🤣

I asked ChatGPT to write a short essay on skills for the future, and I found what it wrote not just interesting, but pretty much in line with Yuval Noah Harari’s great OBF key-note on the same subject from last fall. Amazing! 🤩 Check it out:

“In today's rapidly changing world, it's important to constantly be learning and developing new skills to stay competitive in the job market. But with so many different industries and technologies emerging, it can be difficult to know which skills will be most valuable in the future. Here are a few that are likely to be in high demand:

  1. Technology skills: As more and more industries become digitized, it's important to have a strong foundation in computer science and information technology. This includes programming languages like Python and Java, as well as knowledge of databases and networking.

  2. Communication skills: In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to effectively communicate with others is more important than ever. This includes both written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to work effectively in teams.

  3. Problem-solving skills: As the pace of change continues to accelerate, employers will be looking for individuals who can think critically and creatively to solve complex problems. This includes the ability to analyze and synthesize information, as well as the ability to think outside the box.

  4. Adaptability: The future is uncertain, and the ability to adapt to new situations and technologies will be crucial. This includes the willingness to learn and the ability to be flexible and open to change.

  5. Leadership skills: As the workforce becomes more decentralized and global, the ability to lead and manage teams remotely will be increasingly important. This includes the ability to motivate and inspire others, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and make tough decisions.

Overall, the most valuable skills for the future will be those that allow individuals to be adaptable, innovative, and effective communicators. By developing these skills, you can position yourself for success in whatever the future may bring.”

Then I had Dall-E create an image for me, (see on top of this page). What do you think? It’s pretty amazing isn’t it?

It’s 2023 and I’m going to dance into the future by continuously developing my skills, curiously absorb and try out new and amazing tools, but I’ll do it authentically. I won’t post ChatGPT-produced text as my own and I’ll do what I can to ensure it’s reliable. Critical thinking is definitely a critical skill for the future.

Cheers - and happy 2023! 🎉
